Yes, a foreign national can rent a car from Autorent, subject to the availability of 'International Driving License' along with valid travel documents.
The following types of Driving Licenses are acceptable for renting a car: For Nationals & Residents Oman Driving License For Tourists (Any One of the following) International Driving Permit (IDP) GCC (Gulf Co-operation Council) Driving License Home Country Driving License (Applicable for AUSTRALIA, AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, CANADA, DENMARK, FINLAND, FRANCE, GERMANY, GREECE, HOLLAND, IRELAND, KOREA, NEW ZEALAND, NORWAY, POLAND, ROMANIA, ITALY, SOUTH AFRICA, SPAIN, SWEDEN, SWITZERLAND, TURKEY, UK, and USA).
In Oman, the legal driving age to possess a car is eighteen (18). However, in order to rent a car, you need to be twenty-one (21) years old, and your driver's license must be six months older than 21.
Pick-up and Delivery Options are available to meet customer requirements on chargeable basis. Such charges are based on the distance of delivery / pick-up location and the type of vehicle. The cost is mentioned at the booking page in the website.
All lease contracts are governed with a 'Termination Clause' and needs to be complied as per the agreement for any pre-closure. Extension of the 'Lease Contract' is subject to the terms and conditions of further usage basis which revised / same rental rate will be decided.
Changing to a lower model/variant is not allowed in a Lease Contract. Changing to an upper grade model/variant is permissible with the applicable charges.
Individual Lease 100% Monthly Advance Payment is required, failing which the services will be withdrawn. Corporate Lease Credit Period can be offered based on credit evaluation.
Fines can be levied for any violation that is non-compliant as per the traffic regulations of the Royal Oman Police.
The traffic fine imposed by the Royal Oman Police is to be paid by the customer as and when it is raised on an autorent basis.
Comprehensive Insurance is available for all vehicles. The Excess Insurance Charges must be paid for any damages, along with the necessary documents and the ROP report.
